Fee-based Spoken English
The Spoken English Seminar is a short course which helps students develop speaking skills. It is a five-week, fee-based course that meets twice a week for a total of ten hours. This seminar is designed for graduate and professional students who speak English as a second language.
Students in the seminar study several aspects of spoken English learning strategies to improve their speaking skills. The topics covered include pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, presentation and group discussion skills, vocabulary, and idioms.
Although the course has strong emphasis on academic English, attention is also given to more informal and colloquial uses of the language because of the diverse social settings the students need to respond to.
