Intramural sports serve the recreation and leisure needs of students, faculty, and staff of Case Western Reserve University. Diversified programs and experiences are offered throughout the year to accomplish this purpose.
Intramurals bring people together for the purpose of peaceful play. It is a social event. We provide the circumstances to play; you provide the fun, laughter, and friendship. Everyone who participates and has a pleasant experience is a winner. Only those who do not play, or play too seriously, lose. Set your ego aside and relax.
The intramural program offers recreational and leisure opportunities for women, men, and co-rec participants (men and women on the same team). These activities are provided in the form of leagues, tournaments, or special one-day events. Team, dual, and individual activities are provided. The format established for play is based upon interest. Some activities are restricted to student participation, and some are structured so both students, faculty, and staff may play together.
The wide range of activities offered by the intramural staff should accommodate everyone's leisure needs. The programs run from the traditional to the not-so-traditional. For those with a strong competitive spirit, sports such as flag football, basketball, softball, volleyball, and many others are offered. Some individual activities are table tennis, racquetball, badminton, and weightlifting.
Case Club Sports is always looking for Case students, faculty, or staff who are interested in joining a sports club. For more information regarding one of these organizations, or in starting a new sports club, contact the Intramural Office at 216.368.3874.
