Housing at Case

Undergraduate Housing

Case offers unparalleled opportunities for undergraduate students to pursue their academic goals in an environment that encourages success through living and learning. Thrust into the heart of Cleveland's University Circle area, the Case campus is an exciting location to live, learn and explore. Nestled among several cultural, intellectual and scientific institutions, our neighbors include the Cleveland Museum of Art, Severance Hall, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic.

As an institution of higher education, Case is dedicated to becoming the most powerful learning environment in the world. The Office of Residence Life and Services is committed to this goal by creating developmental and comprehensive living and learning communities. The residence halls at Case provide an environment that is supportive of the academic mission of the university.

Residential Colleges

During the first year on campus, students live in one of four residential colleges. Eleven of our residence halls belong to either Cedar, Juniper, Mistletoe, or Magnolia Residential College.

Cedar: Includes Pierce and Storrs Houses
Juniper: Includes Smith, Taft and Taplin Houses
Mistletoe: Includes Norton, Raymond, Sherman and Tyler Houses
Magnolia: Includes Cutler and Hitchcock Houses

North Residential Village

Most undergraduate students live together in the North Residential Village (NRV). Case has a two-year residency requirement, and unless you live at home within 40 miles of campus, you must live on campus for your first two years at Case.

The NRV is located near the museums, Severance Hall, and other cultural attractions. The residence halls are surrounded by trees and recreational fields and are close to the academic buildings on Mather Quad, the Thwing Student Center, The Coffee House at University Circle, the Denny's All Nighter diner, and the Kelvin Smith Library.

South Residential Village

Southside All second-year undergraduate students live together in the South Residential Village (SRV). The SRV is located within walking distance of historic Little Italy, Coventry Road, and the Cedar-Fairmount areas of Cleveland. The village is split into Murray Hill ("Bottom of the Hill") and Carlton Road ("Top of the Hill"). Murray Hill houses both second-year and upper-class students, while Carlton Road is exclusively for second-year students. Both areas provide ample opportunities to enjoy our green space on campus and close proximity to the Case quad and Veale athletic facility. Because the residence halls are surrounded by trees and wildlife, the South Residential Village is also a quiet place to live and study.

The Village at 115

In 2005, Case introduced a new living-learning environment for upper-class students. The Village at 115 incorporates seven residential "houses" with accommodations for approximately 740 upper-class students.
