The CWRU Residential Network
The CWRU network supports the mission of the university as a research- and education-focused organization.
As one of the largest, fastest networks in higher education, the gigabit bandwidth operates many hundreds of times faster than what you would experience using a broadband or DSL connection.
This powerful research, communication and social medium enables and promotes interaction with people down the hall and around the world.
Students in residence halls can access the Internet at speeds of one gigabit per second (Gbps) through the National LambdaRail (NLR) on the wired network.
It is ideal for use while streaming video, downloading software from the Software Center, using desktop videoconferencing tools or any other time that increased bandwidth is desired.
The CWRU wireless network is secure, fast, and has connectivity options for both campus users and their guests.
The information provided on these pages is basic connection guidance for residential students.
The CWRU network is operated by Information Technology Services.
If you have additional questions, or are having a problem connecting to our network, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 216/368-HELP.
