Supplemental Learning Opportunities

Service Learning

Service learning integrates experiential learning and community service in an academic context. Through activities and experiences mutually negotiated between academic and community partners, service learning addresses identified needs, enhances the curriculum, and fosters civic responsibility. Facilitated by the Center for Civic Engagement.

Co-op is a full-time, two-semester-long, paid work experience. While co-ops typically require a student to remain in school for a fifth year, the opportunity accelerates and inspires intellectual, personal, and professional development through meaningful work in a position relevant to your field of study—which prepares you to be a top-tier candidate in your job search.

Engineering Education Summer Outreach

The Engineering Education Summer Outreach program is a nine week summer program made possible by funding from the Leonard Gelfand STEM Center. The program aims to expand access to engineering education and promote higher education and STEM fields for local youth in Cleveland, while building the civic engagement skills of CWRU students.

Research Showcase
