What is hazing and what is the Case Greek community's stance on hazing?

Hazing is defined as any mental or physical requirement, request, or obligation placed upon any member or prospective member of an organization (team, group, Greek, etc.) by other members of that organization that causes or creates a substantial risk of discomfort, pain, fright, disgrace, injury, or personal degradation or which violates any federal, state, local statute or University policy.

The Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils of Case Western Reserve University support the definition and position of hazing and pre-initiation activities presented by FIPG, Inc. and the Case Western Reserve University policy as stated in the most recent version of the Student Services Guide.
