New Member

Once a man or woman decides to accept a bid to join a fraternity or sorority, the student (in most cases) becomes a new member. New members learn about the organization and its members through attending chapter meetings, social events, and various projects. During the new member education process, each new member is matched with an older member of the organization commonly know as a big brother or sister. New member programs usually last anywhere from two days to eight weeks, with initiation (the ceremony in which new members become initiated members) occurring after the new members completed their educational program.
