Graduate Student Engagement

The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement is chiefly responsible for assisting in the development of the graduate student community, conducting assessment of services and programs facilitated/overseen by SA&L and develop programs for the graduate student community. Assist the Associate Director in the support of the Graduate Student Council. Creativity, innovative thinking and the ability to work with a team is required.


August 6, 2018 - May 10, 2019 (with the opportunity to add an additional year based on performance)


  • All applicants must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time degree-seeking graduate student.
  • All applicants must have obtained a bachelor's degree prior to the Fall 2018 academic semester to qualify for the graduate assistant positions.
  • Applicants must be available to work the complete term of the contract dates. If the graduate program conflicts with the contract dates, please notify the selection committee in writing.


  • Plan and implement the Fall Feast program offered to the graduate student community in the Fall semester.
  • Work directly with the executive board of the Graduate Student Council (GSC) as assigned by the Associate Director.
  • Work with the Associate Director in the development of the Graduate Student Appreciation Week which includes program development, Cleveland business outreach and creation of departmental programming.
  • Collaborate with the GSC VP for Student Organizations to develop programs/training sessions for graduate student organizations pertaining to campus services and group development.
  • Collaborate with the SA&L team with the overall marketing (social and traditional) of programs and services which will reach the graduate student community.


  • $14.50/hour (approximately $12,180/10 month contract)
  • On campus parking pass
  • Not to exceed 20 hours per week which may include weekends and/or evening hours.
  • Library access through OHIO Link; access to Veale Athletic Center and the Wyant Athletic and Wellness Center
  • Professional development opportunities (practicum's, department events, workshops, etc.)
