PICNIC AREAS

Picnic grounds are available for use Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. during open season second full week in April through first weekend in October. (NO SUNDAY EVENTS).
Based on the University calendar, certain dates are considered unavailable for reservation. Those dates are as follows: 1) Any Scheduled University Holiday, and 2) Any day that immediately precedes or follows a scheduled University Holiday.

Four picnic areas that can be reserved: open areas 1 and 2; and Shelters #3 and #4.

#3 SHELTER

CWRU Dept/Education Groups/Affiliated Organization : $250 for up to 120 guests

Current Student Groups: No fee for use of facility. Groups must not exceed 120 guest limit. Any event over 80 students in attendance must secure campus police to be onsite during event. No alcohol is permitted for student events at the farm. For groups reserving for social event requesting alcohol be served, please call farm office for approval and serving guidelines.

Private Affiliated Picnics (Current Faculty/Staff/Student or Alum) $50 max 50 guests; $600 for 55-100 guests*.

*Five (5) private picnics of up to 100 guests maximum are open to affiliated sponsor for a usage fee of $600.00. These private picnics must not exceed the 100 guest limit and abide by usage guidelines as stated on this website and signed reservation form. Reservations must be submitted and picnics sponsored ONLY by university affiliates (University staff, faculty, students and alumni). Affiliated sponsor must be in attendance for duration of event.

Not-For-Profit groups affiliated with CWRU affiliated sponsor within organization, are permitted to host their organization's picnic up to 100 guest. Group affiliated sponsor (within organization) must be in attendance for duration of event.$250 per day usage fee

#4 SHELTER: Teaching Research/Recreational Shelter

CWRU/Affiliated Organizations Educational Use: Max capacity 65 guests. $200 per day

Private Affiliated Picnics (Faculty/Staff/Student/Alum) $50 max 50 guests

No recreational activities at this space (Shelter only). No Volleyball or softball diamond.

Parking at lot #4 is off driveway going to November Meeting Center. A few designated parking spots are located in front of #4 for those needed assistance and/or unloading. All other vehicles must park at designated lot or main parking lot. No parking on grass or gravel road at or near shelter.

Restrooms #4: Located near Pink Pig Facility

#5 Picnic Shelter

Located along road near the pine grove, is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for up to 15 people. Site has one small grill and two picnic tables. Parking is prohibited on gravel road so please park in main lot or at picnic grounds when using #5.

Open areas 1 and 2

These two sites are open grassy areas. Does not have covered shelter. Each site has one grill and a few picnic tables to accommodate smaller private picnics under 20 guests.

Tents, Bounce houses, Recreational Rental Equipment

Are not permitted at any of the picnic sites. If private recreational equipment is requested, please contact the Farm administration office (216.368.0274). Please view the picnic area usage guidelines and farm alcohol policy prior to making reservations.

Cancellations and Other Fees

$75 Cancellation Fee for cancellation of reservations less than 14 days prior to event. The full fee will be charged for cancellations within 72 hours of event.

$200 MINIMUM WILL BE CHARGED for any damage to the facility. Additional charges my apply

$50 Change Date Fee for date changes made to reservation after signing and returning reservation form and event confirmation is completed

$50.00 per hour excessive cleaning fee, if required.

Reservations

Please check availability on our farm calendar before completing the appropriate reservation form for your event. Picnic areas open the second week in April through the first weekend in October.
