Debra Ann November Learning Center

In August 2005, the Debra Ann November Learning Center opened its doors at the East Cleveland Public Library. This new wing is part of the 18,000-square-foot, $3.8-million library addition.

The library is key to the residents of East Cleveland and serves as a community center. Funds for the library expansion were provided by a $1 million start-up grant from Cleveland Foundation. Other supporting organizations include The Fred A. Lennon Charitable Trust, the McGregor Foundation, the George Gund Foundation, the Abington Foundation, and the Eva L. and Joseph M. Bruening Foundation. The project's sole individual donor was Mort November.

A street was dedicated in Debra Ann's memory on the east side of the library. The name change was approved by the East Cleveland Council on November 1, 2005. Future plans include adding trees and other landscaping to beautify the street, which runs from Euclid Avenue to the railroad tracks.
