Leadership Development

SpartansLEAD

Student Activities & Leadership empowers all Spartans to be present and actively engaged in contributing to campus life which leads to personal exploration, leadership development and school pride. We believe all CWRU Spartans already have what it takes to be an effective leader. The SpartanLEADS program is here to help students explore, discover, and own their authentic style of leadership!

Emerging Leaders Program

The Emerging Leaders Program is a one semester program that will leave you feeling connected, confident, empowered, and knowledgeable about yourself and your potential as a student leader on campus. We believe that students can impact our campus community in profound ways and we strive to provide the learning opportunities, support and institutional knowledge to make that happen!

Multicultural Leadership Institute

The purpose of this institute is to help students at CWRU understand how their identities can impact and inform how they lead. The institute will give students the tools to look at leadership from a critical perspective, ultimately equipping them to lead from a multifaceted point of view.

Second-Year Alumni Coaching

The Second Year Alumni Coaching Program offers students the opportunity to engage with a member of the CWRU alumni community. Each participant is paired with a CWRU alumnus for coaching aimed to help participants become more familiar with their ideal and real selves.

Second-Year Institute

The Second Year Institute (2YI) is an opportunity exclusively for second years who are interested in reflecting on their previous time at CWRU while planning for their remaining time as an undergrad. This highly interactive program will give students a chance to interact with administrators, faculty, upper-class and other second year students with these aims.

StrengthsQuest

The StrengthsQuest experience starts with the Clifton StrengthsFinder, a web-based assessment that provides you with your Top 5 Signature Themes of Talent. This is a starting point for self-discovery and a strategy for success in multiple areas of your life. StrengthsQuest is used by over 600 colleges across the U.S. and in companies across the world.

Student Activities Ambassadors

The SA&L Ambassadors work with the Student Activities and Leadership Office (SA&L) to influence leadership development of CWRU students and the 200 plus USG recognized student organizations outside of the academic classroom. We believe in the power of students to impact the campus and surrounding area through community learning, school spirit, and student engagement/involvement. As SA&L student ambassadors, we strive to support one another and provide a platform to communicate ideas while building a supportive community among student leaders.
