Employee Orientation Folder

Before Arrival

There are two pieces of information that are critical to setting up a new employee to begin work:

Network ID - Given to your new employee at Orientation.

Employee ID - Created by Human Resource Records the Thursday or Friday before Orientation.

Your HRA will try to get this information to you and to Student Affairs IT Services as soon as possible.

Listed are tasks that should be done before your new employee arrives:

  • Send a welcome note to your new employee! You may want to provide your contact information, exact directions to their new office, on-boarding partner information, and an agenda for their first day.
  • Send an announcement to the division, including information about their background and how you see their role in the division.
  • Office preparation
    • Clean and stock the new employee's office.
    • Submit the New User Setup Form to have a Student Affairs computer account created, update their office phone and get their name tag ordered. This will require their Employee ID.
    • Grant building access. Only certain individuals have the ability to grant access.
    • Request key access for your new employee.
    • Prepare a work agenda for their first day.
