Information Display Configuration

The IT Operations Group maintains a number of information display screens around campus, located in residence halls and high-traffic areas such as Thwing Center and Nord Hall. These screens run custom software developed by the IT Operations Group which can show information from a number of sources:

  • RSS news feeds
  • Google Calendar events
  • iCalendar event feeds
  • Photo and event flier RSS feeds
  • NextBus (campus shuttle service) real-time status
  • wēpa printing kiosk real-time status
  • Weather information and forecasts
  • Facebook posts, photos, and events
  • YouTube videos
  • Office operating hours and open/closed status

We also integrate additional information sources on a regular basis, so if you have something in mind not listed here, please contact us to talk about adding support for it.

A standard information display installation includes the following:

  • Dell OptiPlex 3020 micro computer
  • LG commercial-grade monitor (32-inch or 46-inch diagonal)
  • Routine maintenance and ongoing software updates by the IT Operations Group
