Web Accessibility Guidelines

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to ensuring accessibility of its website for people with disabilities. We are currently reviewing the site to ensure it achieves level A conformance with the W3C/WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) for PDF documents, images and multimedia files.

Information for Content Developers

Most of the WCAG guidelines are achieved automatically through the template engine. Many additional items are enforced through the online editor system, either automatically or by issuing warnings to content developers before saving pages.

Best Practices for PDF Documents

If you have a multi-page document that must be uploaded to your site, please review these best practices established by Adobe Systems Incorporated before converting your Word documents and PowerPoint slides to PDFs. You may also want to review the recent screen reader survey results provided by WebAIM to better understand the challenges faced by those who have trouble viewing converted files. For additional questions, please contact sasupport@case.edu so we can assist you with any questions or concerns about creating accessible content.
