Disorderly Conduct

These standards of conduct are valid only for incidents occurring before August 1, 2016. For conduct incidents occurring August 1, 2016 or later, please refer to the University Student Code of Conduct.

University community members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not create disruptions or that does not involve unacceptable actions in regards to community, behavioral, and/or moral standards. Such conduct may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Interference with freedom of speech or movement
  • Intentional disruption or obstruction of teaching, research, administration, or other functions of the university
  • Obnoxious and anti-social behavior
  • Lewd, lascivious, and vulgar behavior
  • Window peeping
  • Excessive noise (of any nature including, but not limited to, musical instruments, loud parties, a stereo, a radio, or yelling)
  • Violation of Quiet Hours in the Residential Colleges (11 p.m. - 10 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 1 a.m. - 10 a.m. Friday through Saturday)
  • Participating in a demonstration, riot or activity that disrupts the normal operations of the university and/or infringes on the rights of other community members
  • Leading or inciting others to disrupt scheduled and/or normal activities within any campus building or area
